Konya Judo Team Second in Turkey

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club Judo Team finished second at the Spor Toto U23 Turkey Judo Championship held in Konya, winning a total of six medals.

The Spor Toto U23 Turkey Judo Championship, included in the Turkish Judo Federation’s 2026 activity program and serving as a reference event for international competitions, was held on January 27–28, 2026, at the Konya Karatay Congress and Sports Hall.

At this major event, a total of 895 athletes — 452 men and 443 women — took to the tatami. Hosting many prominent competitors, the championship was held on six mats for the first time in the history of Turkish judo.

In the major tournament, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club competed with 10 athletes. The yellow-and-black judokas won a total of six medals — two gold, three silver, and one bronze — and finished the championship as Turkey’s runner-up in the team standings.
