Konya Mayor Visits Velodrome Training

Konya Metropolitan Mayor Uğur Ibrahim Altay joined the training session of the Konya Metropolitan Belediyespor Cycling Team at Turkey's first Olympic velodrome.

Mayor Altay visited the athletes of the Konya Metropolitan Belediyespor Cycling Team, who are preparing at the velodrome for the UCI Track Cycling Nations Cup, one of the world's most prestigious track cycling events, set to take place in Turkey for the first time from March 14-16.

Mayor Altay stated, "Konya is an important sports city because it has significant sports facilities. We are currently at Turkey's first Olympic velodrome. Built as part of the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games, we are working intensively as the Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor Club to actively utilize this velodrome. Right now, our team is training here. Konya is a city of cycling. As part of our efforts to promote cycling in every sense, we are here to support the development of the sport by joining the training session at this velodrome."
