Emirhan Danış, a trampolinist from Karatay Belediyespor, surpassed the Olympic qualification score at competitions held in İzmir and was included in the Olympic squad.
The athlete, who has been called up to the national team squad, will represent Türkiye at the World Cup to be held in Baku from February 19 to 22.
Emirhan Danış stated that disciplined training and the support he has received since an early age have brought him to this point in his sporting journey, and said:
“I started artistic gymnastics at the age of four. After continuing for five years, I switched to trampoline gymnastics. With the support of my coaches, I have been striving for many years to represent my country in the best possible way. Last week in İzmir, I became the first male athlete from Konya to surpass the Olympic qualification standard. Now, I am preparing for the World Cup to be held in Baku. We have a chance to win a medal, and I will do my very best to represent my country in the best possible way there.”
Stating that they are preparing for an intense competition schedule, Danış noted that they will compete in an event to be held in the Netherlands in March and will then continue their preparations for the European Championship to be staged in Portugal.
The successful athlete also expressed his gratitude for their support to Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca and his team, his coaches, as well as Suat Çelen, President of the Turkish Gymnastics Federation, and federation officials.
