Meram Athlete Selected for National Wushu Team

Successful wushu athlete Defne Temur of Meram Belediyespor to Represent Türkiye on the International Stage

Defne Temur continues to be a source of pride for both Meram and Türkiye. The young athlete, who has drawn attention with her outstanding performance, has been invited to join the Wushu Kung Fu National Team squad by the Turkish Wushu Federation.

The 10th World Junior Wushu Championship, included in the 2026 activity program of the Türkiye Wushu Federasyonu and the International Wushu Federation, will be held in Tianjin, China, between March 23 and 31, 2026.

Ahead of this major event, the National Team will hold a training camp in China from March 1 to 20, 2026 as part of its preparations for the championship. Defne Temur will take part in both the training camp and the World Championship, competing under the Turkish flag.

The national team’s program does not end there. Following the championship, the Wushu National Team will begin preparations for the 4th Youth Olympic Games, which will be held between October 30 and November 15, 2026 in Dakar, the capital of Senegal.
