Selçuk University Student Returns with Silver Medal from Europe

Selçuk University added another victory to its national and international sports record.

Representing Türkiye at the European Weightlifting Championships held in Batumi, Georgia, Selçuk University Faculty of Sport Sciences student Gamze Altun won the silver medal in the women’s 48 kg category.

Competing on the opening day of the championship, which featured a total of 368 athletes from 51 countries, national athlete Gamze Altun became European runner-up with a 97-kilogram lift in the clean and jerk category.

Altun lifted 70 kilograms in the snatch and finished the championship with a total of 176 kilograms.
