Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they prioritize supporting the development of children and young people not only academically but also through social and sports activities.
The Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s “No One Should Be Left Without Swimming Skills” project, aimed at teaching basic swimming skills to students, continues with its fourth term of training.
Mayor Altay noted that, as in previous years, third-grade students are being introduced to swimming through the "No One Should Be Left Without Swimming Skills" project. He stated, “This term, a total of 8,500 students from 85 schools in Meram, Karatay, Karapınar, and Ereğli districts are participating in the project. Our training, which consists of two periods, each lasting 8 weeks, is enthusiastically continuing in its fourth term. Conducted during school hours, the training not only ensures that our children have fun but also contributes to their physical and mental development. I extend my gratitude to everyone involved in this project, which we carry out in collaboration with the Provincial Directorate of National Education, to prepare our children in Konya for a healthier future. I wish our young ones a lifetime of health.”
Students participating in the project and receiving swimming training expressed their happiness, stating that they are both having fun and learning to swim.
