Established in 2024 through a collaboration between Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Capsule Technology Platform and ASELSAN Konya, the engineering development program 'EnginHub,' aimed at the defense industry, has celebrated its first graduates.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay attended the event held at the Capsule Technology Platform campus together with ASELSAN Konya General Manager Serhan Özsoy, where they met with students developing projects for Turkey’s defense industry.
Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the dozens of madrasahs in Konya, which served as the capital of the Seljuk Empire for 200 years and are now used as museums, are the strongest indication of the city’s deep-rooted educational culture. Emphasizing that Konya is a university city with nearly 130,000 students across its five universities, Mayor Altay noted that they are striving to provide the best opportunities for young people coming to Konya from all over the country.
Mayor Altay said, “At first, our team operated within the Science Center, but things progressed to a point where it became necessary to establish an independent space. The Capsule Technology Platform has now reached a level that leaves visitors genuinely amazed. The Ministry of Industry and Technology has also launched an initiative to establish similar structures in all 81 provinces.”
ASELSAN Konya General Manager Serhan Özsoy also stated that EnginHub, launched under the leadership of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, is a unique and special program. He noted that in the coming period, the EnginHub program will evolve by learning from the experiences of its first year, gaining a better understanding of expectations, and designing the next phase more effectively.
At the end of the program, Mayor Altay and ASELSAN Konya General Manager Özsoy presented certificates to the students who had participated in the training and activities at EnginHub throughout the year.
