Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatımcı introduced the Beyhekim
Development and Technology Academy, which was brought to the Beyhekim District
by the Selçuklu Municipality, to local and national press representatives.
Beyhekim Development and Technology Academy, which is one of
the out-of-school learning environments of Selçuklu Municipality, contributes
to the training of well-equipped and visionary individuals of the future and to
the discovery of new talents with the trainings it offers. The facility, which
has not been officially opened yet, but continues its activities without
slowing down, was introduced to the local and national press representatives
operating in Konya by the Mayor of Selçuklu Ahmet Pekyatımcı. As part of the
information tour, the activities carried out were explained in detail to the
media representatives, who visited the classrooms in the workshops one by one.
The facility, which offers all the possibilities of modern technology, received
full marks from the members of the press.
President Pekyatımcı said, “Our youth, children and adults
are doing different works in 13 different workshops”
Expressing that one of the important working areas of
Selçuklu Municipality is out-of-school learning environments, Selçuklu Mayor
Ahmet Pekyatımcı said, “In this sense, we have been carrying out important
works for 3 years. At first, we realized the Ahmet Keleşoğlu Art Design
Workshop. Then our Sille Nature School started to work, then Hatice Hatun
Neighborhood Complex and Traffic Education Park became a link in this chain.
Today, we visited Beyhekim Development and Technology Academy together with our
members of the press. Out-of-school learning environments are very important to
us. Because our children and young people not only receive academic education
and achieve academic success, but also make different studies related to their
personal development and personal skills, and at first they discover
themselves, their interests, they need to reveal their abilities and develop
themselves in this direction. In this sense, we think that these out-of-school
learning environments are very important.
“24 of our schools participate in workshops during the term”
Stating that training is given in 13 different workshops at
Beyhekim Development and Technology Academy, President Pekyatımcı said, “Our
youth, children and adults come here and carry out different works. In our
workshops here, our young people have the opportunity to express and develop
themselves in many different fields, from music to UAV mechatronics, to GIS, to
fashion design. At this point, our expert teachers make our children work in
their fields, provide information and training. Together with our District
Directorate of National Education, we carry out a multi-disciplinary planning
and organization. Currently, 24 of our schools are participating in workshops
here at our Development and Technology Academy during this term. Over a
thousand students come here on different days during the term and participate
in these workshops. We include not only our students but also our adult groups
in workshops here. In line with their wishes and demands, we also offer our
adult groups an opportunity to express and develop themselves in different
workshops in the field they want, with both evening programs and weekend
programs. We want our young people, students and children to be happy and we
think that it is very important for their future that they can express themselves
in the best and most accurate way. In this sense, the activities and studies
they do in out-of-school learning environments guide them in which areas they
should develop themselves in the future. Today, while we were wandering
upstairs with our members of the press, we saw our children in the photography
workshop. Before our members of the press, they were competing with each other
to take different shots with their cameras. Likewise, we saw how the children
in our technology design workshop produced different technological products
there. We saw how happy the children in our music workshop felt by playing the
guitar. Again, in our history workshop, we saw how children gained awareness of
history. Again, in our doll production workshop, we saw how our children from
secondary school enjoyed producing different products. At this point, we, our
children and young people, are working here in terms of their future vision and
in terms of determining their future goals, We think that studies in out-of-school
learning environments are very important. In this sense, we carry out these
studies in a very harmonious and productive cooperation with our District
Directorate of National Education. That's why I would like to thank all his
team in the person of our District Director of National Education. We have been
continuing the Seljuk Valuable Education Program for 10 years, and
out-of-school learning environments within the scope of the Seljuk Values
Education Program is a new study we have created for 3 years. However, we
continue this work by spreading it to almost all our schools in a very
efficient way with the contributions of our District Directorate of National
Education. They have great efforts and efforts. That's why I would like to
thank our district national education director and his team individually. To
our teachers who work here, I would also like to thank our teachers and our
teams working in the whole municipality. Hopefully, we plan to continue this
work by improving it," he said.
