Konya Science Center

Konya Science Center

Supported by TUBITAK, the Konya Science Center offers a simple and engaging space where people of all ages can explore science through hands on experiences.

The story of the Konya Science Center began in 2008, when TUBITAK announced its first support program for science centers in Turkey. After the evaluation process, the project of Konya Metropolitan Municipality was approved. With this decision, Konya became home to the first science center supported by TUBITAK.

Many important institutions in Konya took part in this process. The Chamber of Industry, Organized Industrial Zone, Selcuk University, the Provincial Directorates of National Education and Culture and Tourism, the Chamber of Commerce, the Commodity Exchange and KOSKI all contributed to the establishment of the center. This strong cooperation helped create a sustainable model and ensured the long term success of the science center.

The Konya Science Center was built on an area of nearly 100,000 square meters. It includes indoor exhibition spaces, wide green areas, walking paths and outdoor facilities. Its modern design attracts visitors and encourages young people to take an interest in science.

The building also stands out with its environmentally friendly features. Solar panels and a wind power system are used to support clean energy, making the center an important example of green architecture in Turkey.

Inside the center, visitors can explore thematic exhibitions, open air displays, an observation tower, a planetarium, conference halls, laboratories and a library. These spaces allow visitors to learn by seeing, trying and experiencing.

The Konya Science Center plays an important role in making Konya a city of science. It aims to raise curious, confident and innovative individuals by bringing science and technology closer to everyday life. Through simple and interactive experiences, the center helps visitors develop a lasting interest in science.
