Konya Science Center Draws Weekend Crowd

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay met with young people and their families attending weekend events at the Konya Science Center, the first and largest science center supported by TUBITAK.

Mayor Altay stated that the Konya Science Center has become a well-known brand throughout Turkey and noted that numerous scientific events are held at the center throughout the year.

SCIENCE CENTER TO CONTINUE HOSTING MAJOR EVENTS

Mayor Altay stated that in addition to permanent exhibitions, temporary educational spaces have also been created for visitors coming from Konya and surrounding provinces. “This week, our theme is agriculture. As you know, due to the Agriculture Fair, agriculture has become a prominent topic in Konya this week. On this occasion, we organized activities at the Science Center to help children and guests develop an appreciation for agriculture. Konya is a city that produces not only for itself but also for Turkey’s food security. We are organizing events to foster a love of agriculture in children so that production can be passed down from generation to generation. The Konya Science Center will continue to welcome its guests with important events in the future,” he said.

Mayor Altay also toured the activity areas at the Konya Science Center and chatted with young people and visitors.
