Konya Metropolitan Municipality's Konya Science Center welcomed hundreds of thousands of science enthusiasts in 2024.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that the Konya Science Center, Turkey's first and largest science center supported by TÜBİTAK, continues to welcome science enthusiasts of all ages, from 7 to 70.
Mayor Altay noted that the Konya Science Center hosted 351,000 visitors from both Konya and other regions in 2024. He stated, "Our Science Center, which plays a critical role in directing especially our children and young people toward science and technology, helps develop their scientific thinking skills. With a structure that appeals to all age groups, our Science Center organized dozens of scientific events throughout the year. In 2025, we will continue to offer entertaining and educational activities to our visitors. I invite everyone interested in science, especially our children and young people, from all over Turkey to visit the Konya Science Center."
In 2024, the Konya Science Center hosted a special program focused on the journey of Turkey's first astronaut, Alper Gezeravcı, sent to the International Space Station as part of the "First Manned Space Mission." Science and space enthusiasts of all ages, from 7 to 70, had the opportunity to attend Gezeravcı's first talk after completing his 14-day mission on the International Space Station.
