Konya Zero Waste App Wins International Award

The "Konya Zero Waste Information System," introduced by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, has been selected as the "Application of the Month" on the International Smart City Platform. The application aims to spread the concept of Zero Waste throughout the city and encourage environmental sustainability.

Konya Zero Waste Information System is a system developed to provide coordination, track and analyze waste data, and guide zero waste activities in Konya. The system consists of two phases: a web page and KOSABS.

The web page provides features such as informing about zero waste, conducting a zero waste survey for citizens, and displaying waste collection points on a map. KOSABS, on the other hand, provides features such as tracking and analyzing the amounts of waste collected at the source, measuring the effectiveness of zero waste activities, and improving waste management.

The selection of the Konya Zero Waste Information System as "Application of the Month" shows that the system is appreciated for its innovative and sustainable features. This system is an important tool that will help Konya achieve its zero waste goals.

Hülya Şevik, Head of the Environmental Protection and Control Department of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, said: "We are very happy that the Konya Zero Waste Information System has been appreciated on an international platform. This system shows that Konya's work on zero waste is appreciated internationally. We will continue to develop and disseminate our system."

Thanks to the Konya Zero Waste Information System, the amount of waste in Konya has been reduced by 20%.
