Konya’s Innovative Transport Solution Gains Prestigious Award

The exemplary practices implemented by Konya Metropolitan Municipality in the field of public transportation continue to receive awards.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality won the "Municipality Award" at the Conf-ITS'25 Smart Transportation Systems Conference, organized biennially under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Turkish Intelligent Transportation Systems Association (AUS Turkey). The award was granted for the project titled "Development of the Digital Twin Platform in Transportation" under the "Path of Intelligence in Transportation Awards" category.

At the award ceremony held at Ankara Teknopark, the prestigious award was presented to Mustafa Uzbaş, Deputy Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, by Aysel Kandemir, Director General of Communications at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay expressed that the achievement is a source of pride, stating, "The recognition of the steps we have taken in smart transportation systems at such a prestigious platform this year has both honored and motivated us. With our 'Digital Twin Platform' project, we aim to make urban transportation more efficient, effective, and sustainable. I would like to thank my colleagues and partner institutions who contributed to winning this award. We dedicate this meaningful award to our city and citizens. The Digital Twin Platform aims to reduce traffic congestion and optimize public transportation routes by real-time monitoring of all infrastructure and smart systems used in transportation and traffic. It utilizes artificial intelligence to perform analyses and make predictions.
