Sky Enthusiasts Gather at Astrofest

Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Konya Science Center organized the Astronomy Festival (Astrofest) at two different locations this year.

The 6th edition of Astrofest, organized by the Konya Science Center under the slogan “A Little Sky for Everyone,” was hosted at the Konya Metropolitan Municipality Taşkent Atabey Youth and Education Camp, while the 7th edition took place at the Beyşehir Atabey Youth and Education Camp.

The events featured astronomy and nature-themed workshops suitable for all ages, catering to everyone curious about the sky, along with science talks delivered by expert academics in the field.

In addition, sky enthusiasts enjoyed two days immersed in science during the festival, which included nature walks, night and solar observations with telescopes, and fun-filled competitions.

Established by Konya Metropolitan Municipality and supported by TÜBİTAK, Konya Science Center is Turkey’s first and largest science center. In line with its mission, it not only hosts various themed festivals and programs within its premises but also takes part in science festivals across the country.

In addition to organizing Turkey’s largest and most comprehensive science festival, the Konya Science Festival, held annually, Konya Science Center also contributes to the popularization of science across the country through festivals focused on astronomy, mathematics, and other scientific fields.
