Turkey's Largest Science Center Hosts AstroFest

The 5th Astronomy Festival (AstroFest) of Konya Science Center, which operates under the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, brought together astronomy enthusiasts again this year.

The 5th AstroFest, organized to increase interest in scientific fields such as astronomy, space, and aviation, took place last weekend at the Beyşehir Atabey Youth Camp of Konya Metropolitan Municipality under the theme “A Bit of Sky for Everyone”.

Families from Konya and various regions of Turkey attended the event with their children, where participants satisfied their curiosity about astronomy and space sciences through the guidance of participating academics and expert astronomers in the program.

Astronomy and STEAM workshops targeting different age groups, competitions, nature walks, daytime and nighttime sky observations, talks, and presentations allowed sky enthusiasts to immerse themselves in science.

Konya Science Center, Turkey's first and largest science center supported by TUBITAK and built by Konya Metropolitan Municipality, will continue to contribute to the development and popularization of astronomy science through events organized nationwide, in line with its mission.
