Shams Tabrizi Tomb and Mosque

The tomb and mosque of Shams Tabrizi, known as the friend of Mevlana Jalaluddin al-Rumi, is located in Şems Park in Karatay district of Konya. Shams Tabrizi, who greatly changed the life of Rumi and influenced him with his thoughts, He is an Islamic scholar and a Sufist. It is about 10 minutes away from the Mevlana Museum and is one of the most visited places in Konya. You can also visit the mosque next to the Shams Tabrizi Tomb, which impresses those who come with its peaceful atmosphere, and experience the spiritual feeling to the fullest. The tomb of Shams Tabrizi is architecturally similar to the classical Seljuk domes. the tomb is covered with a lead roof. Today, the building continues to exist in its expanded form after being reworked by Emir İshak in 1510 together with the masjid.
