Uğur İbrahim Altay met with Turkology students at Nouakchott University in Mauritania

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay met with Turkology students at Nouakchott University in Mauritania, where he was present for the UCLG Africa General Assembly.

Stating that he was pleased with the interest shown in the Turkish language and Türkiye, Altay expressed that this bond strengthens cultural closeness.

During the visit, the recitation of the Turkish National Anthem by Mauritanian student Yuma drew attention, and Mayor Altay congratulated the student. As part of the program, a sister city protocol was also signed between Konya Metropolitan Municipality and the Municipality of Nouakchott; it was announced that some Mauritanian students would be hosted in Konya.
