Barley Harvest Season Begins in Karapınar

Barley Harvest Season Begins in Karapınar

The harvest season has officially begun in Konya’s Karapınar district with the first barley harvest of the year. The season opened on a positive note, as farmers achieved a yield of 9 tons of barley from a 15-decare field.

The district’s first barley harvest signals the start of what is expected to be a productive season. Despite being one of Türkiye’s driest regions, Karapınar benefited from favorable rainfall conditions this year, boosting crop development and raising expectations among local producers.

The first harvest was carried out in Sazlıpınar Neighborhood, where combine harvesters entered the fields to begin operations. The season commenced on a 15-decare plot belonging to a local farmer, producing 9 tons of barley and providing an encouraging start to the harvest period.
