Selçuklu Municipality Expands Support for Beekeepers
Selçuklu Municipality continues to support citizens engaged in beekeeping in rural neighborhoods through its Beehive Support Project.
So far, 1,352 stocked beehives have been distributed to 277 farmers as part of the project.
Implemented for the fourth time this year by the Rural Services Directorate of Selçuklu Municipality, the project benefited 93 producers. Within the scope of the program, 465 stocked beehives were distributed. In addition, six producers who had previously received support but later lost their bee colonies were provided with an extra 30 beehives free of charge.
Through the distribution programs carried out to date, a total of 277 farmers have received support under the project.
As part of the program, farmers are also offered free on-site consultancy services throughout the season. Producers benefiting from the grants were additionally provided with beekeeping equipment, including masks, gloves, hive tools, and smokers.
The support package also includes 1 kilogram of honeycomb foundation for each hive, cedar wood beehives, six-frame bee colonies, and queen bees.
