Located within the Bozkır district of Konya, Harmanpınar is home to several ancient settlements whose history dates back to prehistoric times.
Among these settlements, Harmanpınar, formerly known as “Meyre,” stands out with its historical significance and unique location. Situated approximately 10 kilometers from the town center, the settlement lies along the ancient route stretching from the shores of Lake Beyşehir and Lake Suğla toward Isaura.
Walking through the streets of Harmanpınar, visitors can still encounter traces of its rich past. In the village center, particularly on the walls of the mosque and nearby buildings, architectural fragments featuring inscriptions and decorative elements from earlier periods can be seen.
One of the most remarkable historical features in the area is the so-called “Roman Fountain.” The fountain continues to flow with clear spring water, maintaining its presence through the centuries. In front of it lies a small pool, surrounded by carved stone fragments and lion figures that reflect the artistic style of past civilizations.
Local residents believe that many of these historical pieces were brought to the area and preserved long ago. The fountain is also surrounded by various legends that are still shared within the community. According to one of the most popular stories, those who drink from its water are said to become younger and more beautiful, and even visitors arriving in Bozkır at an older age are believed to return feeling rejuvenated.
