973 students who received training for 15 weeks at Karatay Culture and Art Academy gave the audience an unforgettable night by exhibiting the works and stage performances they had prepared throughout the year at the spring term closing program. The program, ranging from theatre to music, from poetry recitals to exhibitions, received great appreciation from the guests.
The spring term trainings at Karatay Culture and Art Academy, which continues its activities by Karatay Municipality in order to contribute to the development of children and young people in the fields of science, culture, art and hand skills, have been completed. The closing program organized at the end of the term witnessed colourful events.
In the program held at Ali Ulvi Kurucu Youth Centre, the trainees who received training for 15 weeks presented the works and stage performances they produced during the term to the appreciation of the guests.
During the spring term at Karatay Culture and Art Academy, free trainings were provided to 973 students in the fields of Woodwork, Mind and Intelligence Games, Informatics, Tile and Ceramics, Drama, Music, Reading, Painting, Language Workshop, and Diction and Voice-over.
Within the scope of the closing program, the exhibitions featuring the works prepared by the students throughout the term were first opened. Works prepared in many different fields, especially the Painting Exhibition, Tile and Ceramics Exhibition, Woodwork Exhibition and Robotic Coding Project Exhibition, were examined with interest by the participants.
In the continuation of the program, students received great appreciation with their stage performances. Theatre performances, music workshop recitals, choir performances, and poetry recitals by the students of the diction and voice-over workshop added colour to the night.
While Nurullah Genç’s poem “Yağmur” was recited by the Diction and Voice-over Workshop students, the play titled “Boğaç Han” staged by the Theatre Club students received full marks from the audience.
The performances of the students receiving training in music workshops also received great applause from the audience. While Ney Workshop students performed the works “Şol Cennetin Irmakları” and “Yemen Türküsü”, piano students successfully performed “Melodi” and “Bourre”, and violin students performed “Rasputin” and various etude works.
While Guitar Workshop students performed the works “Kara Sevda”, “Hayat Bayram Olsa”, “Beni Aşka İnandır” and “Aklımı Geri Ver”, Karatay Culture and Art Academy Choir gave unforgettable moments to those attending the program with the works “Gesi Bağları”, “Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayız”, “Deniz Üstü Köpürür”, “Hacel Obası” and “Dam Başında Sarı Çiçek”.
Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, who attended the closing program, visited the exhibitions featuring the works prepared by the students throughout the term before the program. Mayor Kılca examined one by one the works prepared in the fields of painting, tile-ceramics, woodwork and robotic coding, and received information from the students about their works. Kılca then went to the hall and shared the excitement of the students by watching their stage performances consisting of theatre, music and poetry recitals.
Expressing great satisfaction with the works produced by the students, Mayor Hasan Kılca thanked the students, families and instructors who contributed. Mayor Kılca said, “They have worked very well all together, I congratulate them. I congratulate their families. I congratulate our teachers. As Karatay Municipality, we are instrumental in bringing our children and young people together with beautiful activities at our Culture and Art Academy, our youth centres and our other areas.”
Stating that children have achieved important successes not only in the field of culture and art, but also in the fields of sports, science and technology, Mayor Kılca recalled the achievements obtained in the recently organized inter-school sports competitions and Robotofest Konya.
Emphasizing that the works and stage performances produced at the Culture and Art Academy made them proud, Kılca said, “Today, when we see the activities carried out by our children and young people here, the works in the exhibitions, theatre and other events, we are also happy. Everything is for our children and young people, who are our future. Our young people are our future.”
Drawing attention to the fact that the revival of generations is as important as the construction of cities, Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that they will continue to work so that children are raised well and prepared strongly for the future, and said the following: “You can build cities, but the revival of the generation is also very important. It is very valuable for our children to grow up as individuals who stay away from bad habits and are committed to their national and spiritual values. We will continue to be their supporters at all times. I congratulate our parents. You make efforts for our children and support them in every field. We also strive to contribute to our young people by standing by you. Our children are the future of this country. We will continue to provide every kind of support to crown them.”
