Meram City and Life Culture Museum

The Meram City and Life Culture Museum is located in the Dutlu Kır area, one of the distinguished locations of the city, by the Meram Municipality.

The museum, which began serving in May 2024, consists of three sections designed with reference to the city’s traditional architectural texture.

The first section includes two houses and a courtyard. Within the courtyard, there are a kitchen, outbuildings, a sheepfold, a toilet, a hayloft, a storage room and administrative units.

In these houses, the city and life culture specific to Meram is presented. In the two houses, a total of eight rooms showcase domestic life as well as social and communal life through period-appropriate architecture, decoration, home textiles, ethnographic objects, and sculptures.

The second area features an experiential space with a garden enriched with fruit trees specific to Meram and workshop activities related to traditional cuisine. In the third area, there is a vineyard with grape arbors along with vegetables grown in Meram.

In addition to the exhibition areas, Konya culture is kept alive and passed on to future generations through various activities such as Traditional Konya Cuisine Training, Traditional Handicraft Workshops, Konya Barana gatherings, and Meram Conversations.
