Mavi Bogaz Canyon in the Akoren district of Konya offers a unique exploration route for nature enthusiasts.
Its 35-kilometer-long stunning valley draws attention with its historic caves and camping areas.
This impressive valley, stretching along the Çarşamba Stream, is also known as the “Blue Canyon” due to its towering cliffs.
One of the most striking features of Mavi Bogaz is the unique scenery formed where the Çarşamba River and the Çarşamba Canal, flowing from Lake Beyşehir, meet here and continue toward the Konya Plain.
Stretching approximately 35 kilometers, the canyon extends from Avdan to Balıklava. Along the valley, hiking trails that narrow to as little as 20 meters and widen up to 120 meters create a route that is both thrilling and demanding. For those who prefer not to hike, there are also roads accessible by vehicle.
Historic reliefs and caves carved into the massive rocks throughout the valley make Mavi Bogaz not only a natural attraction but also a site of cultural heritage.
