Decrease in farmers, increase in female employees in Konya

Women’s employment in Konya is increasing day by day. According to SSI data, female employment increased by 11.9 percent and reached 98,051. While the number of employees increases, the number of farmers decreases in the agricultural city of Konya.


Konya’s employment data has been announced. While remarkable data has emerged, the increase in women’s employment comes to the fore. According to the registered employment statistics published by the Social Security Institution (SSI), the total number of insured employees in Konya has increased by 21,074 (3.9 percent) compared to the same month last year and has reached 568,284, and there is an increase of 8,681 (1.5 percent) compared to the previous month.


Decrease in Farmers

In the relevant period, the number of insured employees in Turkey has increased by 385,283 compared to the previous month and reached 23,328,174.


When the working-class distinction in Konya is examined, an increase in employment is observed in other groups except the registered farmers and the public group compared to the previous month. In May, there was a 0.4 percent decrease in the farmer group and a 0.1 percent decrease in the public employee group compared to the previous month.


98.000 FEMALE EMPLOYMENT

There is an increase of 0.2 percent in the registered tradesmen group and 2.5 percent in insured wage employment. On the other hand, the number of workplaces operating in Konya, which ranks 7th in Turkey, increased by 5.3 percent compared to May 2023 and reached 55,217. During this period, female employment has increased by 11.9 percent, reaching 98,051, and its share in total employment increased from 26.6 percent to 26.7 percent.
