Selçuklu Municipality’s Art Academy enriched the city’s cultural scene throughout June with a diverse program of concerts and theatrical performances.
The academy’s June events brought together audiences of all ages through a series of high-quality cultural programs. Known for its tribute concerts honoring legendary figures in Turkish music, the academy continued this tradition with performances dedicated to Orhan Gencebay, Original Turkish Music (Özgün Müzik), and Müzeyyen Senar.
The “Songs of Orhan Gencebay” concert, performed by the Art Academy Music Ensemble, attracted strong interest from music lovers. Held at the Anatolian Stage of the Selçuklu Congress Center, the concert featured some of the legendary artist’s best-known songs, including Batsın Bu Dünya, Hatasız Kul Olmaz, Dertler Benim Olsun, and Bir Teselli Ver. Audiences joined the performers in singing the timeless classics, creating a memorable evening filled with nostalgia.
The academy also paid tribute to Müzeyyen Senar, one of the most influential figures in Turkish classical music, with a special commemorative concert. Featuring performances of the late artist’s most celebrated songs, the “Songs of Müzeyyen Senar” concert was warmly received by the audience.
Another highlight of the June program was the Original Turkish Music Concert, performed by the academy’s instructors and students. Showcasing popular works from the genre, the concert offered audiences an enjoyable evening celebrating contemporary Turkish music.
