Foreigners preferred Konya in real estate

Real estate sales to foreigners in the first quarter of 2020 doubled compared to 2019. Housing sales increased by % 13.8 compared to the previous year.


 
The real estate purchases which foreign investors made in the 1st quarter of 2019 and the 1st quarter of 2020 in Turkey were examined. According to the data of the Land Registry Foreign Affairs Department; the real estate purchases of foreigners, which were 1.898.694 m2 in the first quarter of 2019, reached 3.035.199 m2 in the same period of 2020. 

 
In the research conducted by EVA real estate value assessment report, in terms of house sales, according to the data announced by Turkish Statistical Institute (TSI), by the end of the first quarter of 2020 across Turkey, a total of 10.948 residential units were sold. With this number, an increase of % 13.8 was achieved compared to the same period of 2019. While the ratio of houses sold to foreigners in total housing sales was % 3.8 in the first quarter of 2019, this rate decreased to % 3.2 in the same period of 2020. 

 
Jordan Ranks first in Real Estate and Iran in Housing

 
When all the foreign real estate investments on the basis of the overall surface area corresponding to the total stake in Turkey is examined, Jordan ranks the first in the first quarter of 2020. In this category, Jordan, which replaced Saudi Arabia, which was the winner of the previous year, is followed by Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Dominica, Iraq, Qatar, Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran and the United States.

 
Iran took the first place in total residential sales to the foreigners in Turkey during the first quarter of 2020. Iran was followed by Iraq, the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, Palestine, Yemen, Azerbaijan, Germany, Libya and China.

 
Konya, Manisa and Istanbul in the First Place in Investment

 
When we look at the purchases of the most preferred provinces in terms of all real estate, Konya is the city most preferred by foreigners in real estate investments in the first quarter of 2020, based on the area corresponding to the total share. Konya was followed by Manisa, Istanbul, Antalya, Edirne, Sakarya, Denizli, Muğla, Aksaray and Bursa.
