Konya has taken a significant step to boost employment through strong collaboration between the public sector and industry. Konya Provincial Director of the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), Önder Çiftci, met with members of the Konya Chamber of Industry and local employers to present new employment incentives and support programs.
The meeting highlighted two key projects: İSDEP (Transition to the Labor Market Support Project) and KİPAP (Positive Discrimination for Women's Employment Project). Both initiatives are designed to create advantages for employers and job seekers alike, by easing recruitment processes, supporting training, and encouraging broader participation in the workforce.
Director Çiftci emphasized that these projects aim not only to strengthen employment overall but also to increase women's participation in the labor market, a long-standing priority for regional development. By offering financial incentives, training opportunities, and workplace support, İŞKUR hopes to address both the shortage of qualified workers for companies and the challenges faced by job seekers.
The collaboration between Konya's industrial stakeholders and İŞKUR was described as a model of how public-private partnerships can tackle unemployment while driving sustainable economic growth. Authorities underlined that these efforts will continue, ensuring long-term benefits for both businesses and individuals in Konya.
