Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues organizing bicycle tours to encourage exploring the city’s historical, cultural, and natural landmarks by bike and to support the growth of bicycle tourism.
In Konya, which will hold the title of European Cycling Capital in 2026, cycling enthusiasts pedaled to the ancient city of Lystra in Hatunsaray. The tour began at Harmancık Park, and participants followed the designated routes to reach the ancient site.
At the ancient city of Lystra, where archaeological excavations began in 2024, participants were informed about the region’s history, the ongoing dig at the mound, and the findings uncovered there. During the ride, cyclists also visited Akköprü, an Ottoman structure from the 19th century in Hatunsaray, as well as the Kurt Baba Tomb.
Through these bicycle tours, participants not only explore the city’s historical, cultural, and natural beauty by bike but also meet new cycling enthusiasts, contributing to the growth of the city’s cycling culture.
