Gevale Castle Unveils Konya’s Tourism Potential

Selçuklu Municipality continues restoration and excavation works at Gevale Castle, one of Konya’s most important historical landmarks that has hosted many civilizations throughout history.

The third phase of the ongoing project at Gevale Castle, located on one of the highest points overlooking Konya, is progressing rapidly. Through the cooperation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Selçuklu Municipality, Konya Museum Directorate, and Necmettin Erbakan University, the historic site is being prepared to contribute to the city’s cultural and tourism potential.

As restoration efforts continue, Gevale Castle is expected to become one of Konya’s significant tourism destinations, offering visitors a journey through centuries of history.

Selçuklu Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı said, “Every part of Gevale Castle offers a journey through time. Once the work is completed, Konya will gain another important tourism destination.”
