Believed to be one of the places where Mevlana Celalettin Rumi delivered sermons, the Iplikci Mosque stands out among the prominent Seljuk-era structures of Konya.
Located in the city center of Konya, to the east of Alaeddin Hill, the Iplikci Mosque is an important place of worship reflecting the early architectural style of the Seljuk period. With its brick-dominated construction, rectangular plan, and vaulted interior, the mosque displays a simple yet strong architectural character. Although it has undergone various restorations throughout history, the building has largely preserved its original identity.
There is no inscription on the mosque. However, historical sources indicate that Mevlana Celalettin Rumi preached here, a detail that enhances the mosque’s spiritual significance alongside its architectural value.
