The Historic Bridge in Konya

The Historic Bridge in Konya

The Meram Bridge in Konya is a historic bridge believed to be built during the Seljuk period, somewhere between the 13th and 14th centuries.

Located over Meram Stream in the Meram district, the bridge is accessible via Yeni Meram Street, known for its scenic vineyards and gardens.

The bridge itself has a distinctive design with five arches. The central arch is pointed and taller than the surrounding round arches. Constructed from dressed stone, the bridge underwent renovations in the early 2000s, which included repairs to the piers, parapets, and walking area.

Standing as a testament to the engineering achievements of the Seljuk era, the Meram Bridge is one of many historic bridges gracing Konya and serving as a link between Konya's past and present.
