Countdown Begins for Şivlilik Celebrations in Konya

The “Şivlilik Children’s Festival,” which has become a tradition organized by Selçuklu Municipality, will once again bring color and joy to Konya on December 25.

In Konya, the countdown has begun for the Şivlilik Festival, which marks the arrival of the holy three months and sees children going door to door collecting sweets from homes.

Organized by Selçuklu Municipality, the Şivlilik Children’s Festival, one of Konya’s long standing traditions, will be held at the Selçuklu Congress Center from December 25 to 28, between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., with a range of special events.

In addition, efforts are underway to promote the Şivlilik tradition at both national and international levels and to have it included on the ICESCO and UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage lists.
