International Delegation Visits Konya During Seb-i Arus Events

Polish Muslims Mufti Tomasz Miśkiewicz and Sarajevo Mayor Samir Avdić met with Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay during their visit to Konya.

Speaking at the meeting held at the Metropolitan Municipality Stone Building, Mayor Altay expressed his pleasure at welcoming guests from different parts of the world during the Seb i Arus commemorations. He noted that Konya continues to host visitors from diverse geographies with the spiritual atmosphere of Seb i Arus and thanked the delegation for their kind visit.

Mufti Tomasz Miśkiewicz underlined that Konya is a historic city and one of the places where the heart of Islam beats in Türkiye. He shared his appreciation for the city’s spiritual heritage and its importance in the Islamic world.

Sarajevo Mayor Samir Avdić thanked Mayor Altay for his hospitality and reminded that Konya and Sarajevo are sister cities. Stating that Konya has done meaningful work for both Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Avdić said they feel at home in the city. He added that they were very happy to be in Konya for the commemoration events of Mevlana, describing the atmosphere as peaceful and inspiring, and wished happiness and tranquility to the people of Konya.

The delegation also visited the Konya Digital Promotion Center at the Stone Building and the newly opened Seerah Exhibition, which presents the life journey of the Prophet Muhammad, and received information from Mayor Altay.
