Karatay Municipality has taken its environmentally friendly initiatives to the international level by joining the International Zero Waste Cities Network along with 20 municipalities from across Turkey.
With the International Zero Waste Cities Network Türkiye Launch organized by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, a new process has begun for cities. Within the scope of the launch, 20 municipalities from Türkiye were included in the International Zero Waste Cities Network, and Karatay Municipality also became part of this network.
With Türkiye’s inclusion in the International Zero Waste Cities Network, established in 2022 by the Basel Convention Asia and Pacific Regional Centre, the process has gained further momentum, and Karatay Municipality has taken its place among 20 cities.
Within the scope of the program, the Director General of Environmental Management, Fatih Turan, presented a certificate of participation to Karatay Deputy Mayor Şaban Önal.
Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca stated that they are deeply pleased and proud that Karatay has become part of an international network through environmentally friendly projects.
