Karatay, one of the fastest-growing districts in Konya, continues to experience population growth. As one of Konya's central districts, Karatay has been attracting attention in recent years due to its investments, improving infrastructure, and the quality of life it offers.

Karatay Municipality's Investments Attract Attention

Karatay, an increasingly popular district where more people choose to live, continues to grow as one of Konya’s largest and most densely populated districts. In 2023, the population of Karatay was 375,919, and by 2024, it had reached 385,432. With this growth rate, it became the district with the highest population increase in Konya. Furthermore, Karatay has contributed to the overall population growth rate of Konya. The services and projects carried out by Karatay Municipality, along with its position as an industrial zone, have expanded employment opportunities, directly contributing to the district's population growth.

Karatay Mayor Hasan Kılca, who evaluated the rising population rate of Karatay, stated that the increasing population has further heightened their responsibilities.

In his statement, Hasan Kılca said: "We are pleased with the increase in our population according to the results of the 'Address-Based Population Registration System' announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK). The population growth resulting from the investments we have implemented so far is a clear indication that Karatay is increasingly preferred. As a municipality, we make life easier for our citizens with our services. Karatay is undergoing a major transformation, not only in the center but also in the distant neighborhoods. With the projects we carry out for our neighborhoods, we are beautifying every corner. Population growth also brings great responsibility, and we are aware of this responsibility. From physical investments to the preservation of historical monuments, from urban transformation to social responsibility projects, from healthcare to the environment, from culture to art, from education to sports, and from the environment to agricultural investments, we will further advance our visionary approach in every field with the population growth.
