Konya Science Center Welcomes Nearly 1,000 Visitors for Sky Observation Event

Türkiye’s first and largest TÜBİTAK-supported science center, the Konya Science Center, attracted significant interest with its Sky Observation Event.

Held in the garden of the Konya Science Center, the event gave nearly 1,000 science enthusiasts the opportunity to observe Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, and the crescent Moon through telescopes.

Observations were conducted using five different telescopes, offering participants a remarkable experience as Venus and Jupiter appeared aligned along the same line when viewed from Earth.

The crescent Moon also drew considerable attention, particularly from children and families, who had the chance to examine it in detail through the telescopes.

During the event, which was led by astronomers, visitors received information about celestial bodies and astronomical phenomena. Participants also took part in science-themed workshops organized as part of the program.

The Konya Science Center will continue hosting events that bring science to people of all ages and backgrounds, welcoming visitors with a passion for discovery and the wonders of the night sky to future science activities.
