Major Infrastructure Milestone Reached in Konya City Hospital Tram Line Project

Work continues on the Stadium–City Hospital Tram Line, a project jointly carried out by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay inspected the ongoing tram overpass construction in the Dormitory District on Sadık Ahmet Avenue, which forms part of the second phase of the City Hospital–Stadium Tram Line project.

Mayor Altay stated that a 124-meter-long reinforced concrete bridge is being built at the Yurtlar District Junction to allow tram passage, noting that the works are being carried out with great care and precision.

Within the scope of the Stadium–City Hospital Tram Line project, a reinforced concrete bridge consisting of six axes and five spans, with a total length of approximately 124 meters, is under construction at the Yurtlar District Junction to enable tram passage. The overall length of the bridge system is expected to reach approximately 700 meters.

While the foundation works for the bridge piers have been completed, significant progress has also been made in the construction of the intermediate piers.

A central-platform station will be constructed on the bridge, with access provided from both the east and west sides via stairs and elevators for passengers with disabilities. In this way, both transport safety and passenger comfort are expected to be improved.
