Selçuklu Builds Turkey’s Leading Green Sports Facility

Selçuklu Municipality is rapidly continuing its efforts to bring to Konya the Athlete Selection and Training Center, one of Turkey's most comprehensive sports facilities and the first to be awarded a green (LEED) certificate.

Selçuklu Municipality, known for implementing exemplary projects in every field, continues to carry out its investments under the banner of the Selçuklu Vision.

With this approach, the completion of the facility—home to many firsts—will provide a significant infrastructure resource for the sports community. The construction of the large-scale sports complex has reached 80% completion.

Athlete Selection and Training Center Stands Out with Its Comprehensive Facilities

Covering a building area of 23,514 square meters and an open field area of 15,630 square meters, the Athlete Selection and Training Center will feature two swimming pools measuring 25 by 35 meters and 25 by 12.5 meters, a handball-size indoor sports hall, and specialized gyms for karate, judo, gymnastics, table tennis, wrestling, chess, taekwondo, wushu, kickboxing, and archery. The center will also include a fitness hall, a football field built to FIFA standards, an athletics track meeting the standards of World Athletics, a sports museum, a sports store, a seminar hall, a VIP room, a cafeteria, administrative units, and other essential facilities.
