Sırçalı Hotel, one of the landmark investments within Meram Municipality's major Suriçi Bazaar Urban Renewal Project, has welcomed thousands of guests from 48 countries during its first year of operation, emerging as one of Konya's newest tourism attractions.
As part of the Suriçi Bazaar Urban Renewal Project, one of Meram Municipality's key initiatives to preserve and promote Konya's historic heritage, registered historic buildings in Şükran Neighborhood that had been lost over the years were reconstructed while remaining faithful to their original architectural design. Opened on July 5, 2025, the restored buildings now operate as Sırçalı Hotel, bringing a high-quality accommodation facility to the city's historic center while helping revive Konya's urban heritage, cultural identity, and centuries-old way of life.
Blending the elegance of the past with modern comfort, Sırçalı Hotel has hosted thousands of visitors from across Türkiye and 48 countries since opening its doors. Combining traditional Konya architecture with contemporary hospitality, the hotel has earned recognition not only for its historic character but also for its high service standards. Its guest-focused approach has resulted in an average online rating of 4.9 out of 5, making it one of Konya's highest-rated hotels in a short period. Reflecting its commitment to environmentally responsible tourism, the hotel has also received the Sustainable Tourism Stage 3 Certificate and has reached the final stage of obtaining bicycle-friendly hotel certification.
Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş visited the hotel to mark its first anniversary, reviewing its achievements and contribution to Konya's tourism sector with Hotel Manager Ersin Çelikkanat and the staff. Çelikkanat described the hotel's first-year performance as a source of pride, noting that thousands of guests from across Türkiye and 48 countries had stayed at the property. He said the positive feedback received from visitors confirmed that the hotel was delivering the right level of service. He added that the next goal is to introduce Konya's historical and cultural heritage to even wider audiences while continuing to contribute to the city's tourism vision.
Mayor Kavuş said Sırçalı Hotel is more than simply an accommodation facility, describing it as one of the most significant outcomes of the municipality's long-term vision for the historic transformation of the area. He said the project was never intended merely to construct new buildings, but to preserve and revive Konya's history. According to Kavuş, the growing number of visitors and the renewed economic activity in the district demonstrate the success of that vision. Emphasizing that Sırçalı Hotel is one of the most valuable elements of the transformation, he said the hotel has welcomed thousands of guests in just one year, bringing together Konya's renowned hospitality with visitors from around the world. He added that he believes Sırçalı Hotel will remain one of the city's important landmarks for many years and congratulated everyone who contributed to its success.
