The "14th International Rumi Poetry Festival," organized by Karatay Municipality in collaboration with the Konya Branch of the Turkish Writers' Union and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, offered art enthusiasts an unforgettable evening in Konya.
The Rumi Poetry Festival, now a tradition in Karatay and held this year for the 14th time, brought poetry lovers together in Konya.
The program, which began with a prayer, featured poets from Turkey, Palestine, and the Turkic Republics reciting their poems in the presence of Rumi.
Following the program at the Mevlana Museum, the 14th International Rumi Poetry Festival continued in the Rose Garden of the Mevlana Dervish Lodge.
Ahmet Köseoğlu, President of the Konya Branch of the Turkish Writers' Union (TYB), who delivered the opening speech of the Mevlana Poetry Festival, stated that the festival has become a long-standing tradition.
Hasan Kılca, Mayor of Karatay, highlighted that Konya has been an important city where culture and civilization have historically intertwined with aesthetics, noting that it continues to inspire poets.
After the protocol speeches, the poets participating in the 14th International Rumi Poetry Festival shared their valuable works with art enthusiasts. Additionally, books containing the poems recited by the poets during the program were given to attendees as souvenirs, while the poets themselves were presented with paintings to commemorate the day.
