Konya to Mark the 752nd Anniversary of Rumi’s Passing with the Theme “A Time for Peace”

Konya is preparing to host the annual Şeb-i Arus ceremonies commemorating the 752nd anniversary of the passing of Rumi. Organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Konya Governorship and the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, this year’s program will be held under the theme “A Time for Peace.”

The events will take place between 7 and 17 December 2025, featuring the message highlighted on this year’s official visual: “The peace of the heart lies in the hearts of those who possess peace,” a reflection of Rumi’s enduring teachings of love, compassion and inner harmony.

Throughout the ten-day program, visitors will experience a wide range of ceremonies, including Sema performances, cultural activities and special commemorative events. Thousands of participants from across Türkiye and around the world are expected to gather in Konya, transforming the city into a vibrant center of spiritual reflection.

Şeb-i Arus, known globally as the “Night of Union,” continues to be one of Türkiye’s most significant cultural and spiritual gatherings, offering a profound insight into Rumi’s universal message.
