Mevlana Museum takes first place with over 3 million visitors

According to the data from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 30 million 932 thousand 948 people visited museums and historical sites across the country in 2022. Konya Mevlana Museum, with 3 million 352 thousand 505 visitors, was the most visited museum.

According to the data from the Center Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Revolving Fund Enterprise (DÖSİMM), museums and historical sites affiliated with the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums hosted 30 million 932 thousand 948 visitors in 2022. The most visited museum, with 3 million 352 thousand 505 visitors, was the Mevlana Museum in Konya.

 

The Denizli Hierapolis (Pamukkale) historical site followed the Mevlana Museum in Konya with 1 million 991 thousand 101 visitors, while the Ephesus historical site in Izmir was visited by 1 million 819 thousand 894 people. Galata Tower received 1 million 266 thousand 820 visitors, Göreme Historical Site in Nevşehir had 1 million 63 thousand 482 visitors, the Republic Museum in Ankara had 937 thousand 529 visitors, and Zelve-Paşabağlar Historical Site in Nevşehir had 930 thousand 677 visitors. The Göbeklitepe Historical Site in Sanlıurfa had 837 thousand 881 visitors, the Hacıbektaş Museum in Nevşehir had 718 thousand 767 visitors, and the Archaeological Museum in Istanbul had 596 thousand 755 visitors. Kaymaklı Underground City in Nevşehir was visited by 533 thousand 52 people, Ihlara Valley Historical Site in Aksaray had 519 thousand 926 visitors, and the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep had 438 thousand 957 visitors. The Patara historical site in Antalya had 418 thousand 242 visitors, Phaselis Historical Site in Antalya had 412 thousand 68 visitors, and Olympos Historical Site in Antalya had 405 thousand 587 visitors. The Derinkuyu Underground City in Nevşehir had 344 thousand 601 visitors, the Sümela Monastery in Trabzon had 339 thousand 110 visitors, and the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara had 336 thousand 806 visitors. Finally, 330 thousand 384 people visited the Troy historical site in Canakkale.

According to the data of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, the highest number of visitors in 2022 to the museums and historical sites affiliated with the General Directorate was in Nevşehir with 4 million 101 thousand 290 visitors. Antalya followed with 3 million 627 thousand 20 visitors, Konya with 3 million 596 thousand 113 visitors, Izmir with 3 million 253 thousand 719 visitors, Istanbul with 2 million 561 thousand 480 visitors, Denizli with 2 million 92 thousand 282 visitors, Ankara with 1 million 518 thousand 850 visitors, Sanlıurfa with 1 million 276 thousand 97 visitors, Muğla with 1 million 179 thousand 948 visitors, and Hatay with 700 thousand 73 visitors.
