and historical sites affiliated with the General Directorate of Cultural
Heritage and Museums hosted 30 million 932 thousand 948 visitors in 2022. The
most visited museum, with 3 million 352 thousand 505 visitors, was the Mevlana
Museum in Konya.
The Denizli Hierapolis (Pamukkale) historical site followed
the Mevlana Museum in Konya with 1 million 991 thousand 101 visitors, while the
Ephesus historical site in Izmir was visited by 1 million 819 thousand 894
people. Galata Tower received 1 million 266 thousand 820 visitors, Göreme
Historical Site in Nevşehir had 1 million 63 thousand 482 visitors, the
Republic Museum in Ankara had 937 thousand 529 visitors, and Zelve-Paşabağlar
Historical Site in Nevşehir had 930 thousand 677 visitors. The Göbeklitepe
Historical Site in Sanlıurfa had 837 thousand 881 visitors, the Hacıbektaş
Museum in Nevşehir had 718 thousand 767 visitors, and the Archaeological Museum
in Istanbul had 596 thousand 755 visitors. Kaymaklı Underground City in
