Mevlana Museum Welcomes Over 3 Million Visitors in 2024

The Mevlana Museum, home to the tomb of the Sufi mystic and Islamic scholar Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi, welcomed 3,048,055 visitors in 2024.


Each year, responding to Mevlana's call of "Come, whoever you are," tourists from all over the world visit the Mevlana Museum. In 2024, the number of visitors increased by 129,775, rising from 2,918,280 in 2023 to 3,048,055. The Mevlana Museum, under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attracted 3,048,055 visitors last year.


The museum, which attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists throughout the year as part of cultural and religious tourism, houses nearly 10,000 artifacts.


Acting Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Yünden stated, "With 3,048,055 visitors, the Mevlana Museum ranks first among museums affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. One of the countries showing the most interest is Iran. Recently, we have been receiving significant numbers of visitors from the United Arab Emirates, Middle Eastern, and Gulf countries. Muslims from the West also show great interest. In this regard, there are few destinations similar to the Mevlana Museum. Visitors from small, unheard-of countries, as well as from Africa and the Far East, create unique emotions for us."
