Mevlana Museum Welcomes Visitors During Sebi Arus

During the Rumi Commemoration Week, held every year between 7 and 17 December, Konya welcomes a large number of visitors from across Türkiye and around the world. One of the most popular destinations during this period is the Mevlana Museum, a key location for anyone who wishes to explore the spiritual and cultural heritage of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.

The Mevlana Museum brings together Rumi’s mausoleum, the living spaces once used by dervishes, and various sections that explain the traditions of the Mevlevi order. The museum’s iconic Green Dome at the entrance is one of Konya’s most recognizable symbols. Inside, visitors can see exhibits on the whirling ritual, dervish garments, handwritten copies of the Masnavi, and many artifacts that illustrate the development of Mevlevi culture over the centuries.

Through manuscripts, personal belongings, and historical objects, visitors can sense the deep atmosphere shaped by Rumi’s teachings of love, tolerance, and unity. The mausoleum of Mevlana, located at the heart of the museum, draws the greatest attention and offers a serene experience.

During the Rumi Commemoration Week, the museum becomes especially busy, so visiting in the early hours of the day often provides a calmer environment. Experiencing Rumi’s universal message in this meaningful setting creates a memorable cultural and spiritual journey for many.
