Konya’s Basketball Team Advances to the Semifinals

Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor advanced to the semifinals after defeating Fenerbahçe in the quarterfinals of the Turkish Basketball League playoffs.

The yellow and black side took to the court in front of their fans at Selcuklu Municipality Sports Hall  for the third and final game of the series, defeating their opponent 91-63 to win the series 2-1 and book a place in the semifinals.

After the second game played in Istanbul saw the series tied, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor delivered a dominant performance from start to finish against their motivated opponent, giving them little room to respond throughout the game.

The Konya representative made a strong start to the game and finished the opening quarter with a commanding 22-8 lead. Increasing its offensive efficiency in the second quarter and receiving scoring contributions from six different players, the team headed into halftime with a 48-26 advantage.

Although the visiting team attempted to cut the deficit in the third quarter, the yellow and black side maintained control of the game and entered the final period leading 65-50. In the fourth quarter, boosted by strong support from their fans, the team continued to play at a high tempo with confidence and secured a convincing 91-63 victory.

With this result, Konya Büyükşehir Belediyespor won the series 2-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the Turkish Basketball League playoffs, where they will face Gaziantep Basketbol.
