Meram’s Young Athletes Take Step Toward National Team

Athletes of Meram Belediyespor continue to distinguish themselves through their outstanding performances. Competing in the Turkish Kickboxing Championship held in Diyarbakır from March 26 to April 3, which constitutes the first stage of the national team selection process, the athletes secured notable results, bringing significant pride to the district.

Competing in the Yeşilay Turkish Championship, held in Diyarbakır from March 26 to April 3, 2026, which represents the first stage of the national team selection criteria, the athletes delivered outstanding performances, securing significant placements and bringing great pride.

Delivering outstanding performances in highly competitive and demanding bouts, Meram Belediyespor’s kickboxing athletes achieved remarkable success. Emircan Abdullah Beserek claimed the championship title in the 75 kg category, while Salim Yiğithan Talay secured first place in the +94 kg division. In the women’s category, Ebrar Aygün earned third place in the 56 kg division, and Hüseyin Öz also finished third in the 54 kg category.

With these results, the athletes successfully cleared a significant milestone in the national team selection process, completing the first stage with distinction. Their achievements brought great pride and satisfaction to Meram Belediyespor.

Meram Mayor Mustafa Kavuş congratulated the athletes who achieved top rankings in the championship and made important remarks. Emphasizing that guiding young people toward sports is of critical importance for the future of society, Kavuş stated:
