Regional Duathlon League Brings Athletes Together in Konya

The 2026 Turkish Triathlon Federation (TTF) Regional League 7th Region Stage 2 Duathlon was held through the cooperation of Karatay Municipality, the Turkish Triathlon Federation, and the Konya Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports. Athletes from several provinces competed in the event, which featured closely contested races.

The competition took place at the Karatay Saraçoğlu Sports Facilities and was attended by Turkish Triathlon Federation Vice President Ali Baş, Karatay Deputy Mayor Ramazan Şevik, Karatay District Director of Youth and Sports Ömer Özçelik, as well as athletes and their families.

Organized as part of the Turkish Triathlon Federation’s 2026 activity program, the event welcomed competitors from Konya, Mersin, Niğde, Aksaray, and Karaman. Athletes competed on courses assigned according to their categories in pursuit of top rankings.

Intense Competition in Running and Cycling Stages

The races attracted strong interest from athletes, coaches, and families throughout the day. Competitors delivered impressive performances that earned enthusiastic applause from spectators.

The competition began in the morning, with athletes taking to the course in their respective categories. Participants in the Youth, Junior, Elite, and Age Group categories completed a course consisting of a 5-kilometer run, a 20-kilometer cycling stage, and a final 2.5-kilometer run. Meanwhile, competitors in the M1, M2, and M3 categories raced over distances appropriate for their age groups. After a full day of competitive racing, the event concluded successfully.

Following the competitions, a medal ceremony was held, where the top finishers received their trophies and medals from protocol members. The event ended with a commemorative group photograph featuring officials, athletes, and coaches.
