The booth presented by Meram Municipality at the “Local Opportunities for a Green Future and Digital Transformation Conference” in Konya attracted significant attention from participants.
Meram Municipality captured attention at the event held at the Mevlana Cultural Center with its Smart Waste Collection System and two separate MZEKA projects.
Visitors attending the conference had the opportunity to explore the systems developed by Meram Municipality firsthand. Participants noted that the applications at the stand were a strong example of data-driven management in municipal governance, emphasizing that Meram is leading the way toward ‘green and digital transformation’ with this vision. The projects, regarded as examples of technological innovation in environmental management, received high praise from attendees.
Meram Municipality’s IoT Smart Waste Collection System, developed with the support of MEVKA, drew significant attention from visitors. At the heart of the system are sensors installed in the containers, which monitor fill levels and temperature changes in real time. This allows collection vehicles to be directed only to full containers, saving both fuel and time while minimizing the risk of fires. Thanks to the system, dozens of containers have already been saved from fire, preventing millions of lira in potential losses. Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the operating principles of the smart container sensors at the exhibition stand.
