The Mathematics Festival has begun at the Konya Science Center, which was established by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality and stands as Turkey’s first and largest science center supported by TUBITAK.
The Selçuk University booth, which stood out with its original materials, workshops, and game-based activities, attracted great interest from visitors at the festival.
Held on November 8–9 at the Konya Science Center, the Mathematics Festival introduces visitors of all ages to the fun and explorative side of mathematics.
Academics and students from Selçuk University’s Faculty of Education offered visitors a unique experience by connecting mathematics with everyday life through workshops and game-based learning activities they had prepared.
As part of the festival, participants explored mathematical ratios found in nature and art during the “Golden Ratio Detectives” workshop, while the fractal shapes activity introduced them to the aesthetic world of infinitely self-similar patterns.
The Digital Maze Game and Children's Play Areas offered young visitors the opportunity to develop and experience their strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
