The first 4-day introductory walk was held on the 102-kilometer historical Zengibar Hiking Trail, which was opened to tourism by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay expressed that they are conducting significant efforts to promote the cultural and natural riches of the city for tourism purposes and to enhance tourism diversity in Konya. He stated that one of these efforts is the revitalization of the historic Zengibar Hiking Trail for tourism purposes.
After completing the exploration, route recording, signage, and arrangement works by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the first phase walk took place last December on a 13-kilometer section of the trail.
Between May 1st and 4th, nearly 300 climbers from 23 clubs and hiking groups from all around Turkey gathered to explore the hiking route.
Nature enthusiasts who participated in the four-day hiking event on the historic Zengibar Hiking Trail expressed great satisfaction in being immersed in nature and history.
